We live in a time with more access to mental health and self-improvement advice than ever before. And yet, rates of mental illness continue to rise.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions.

No diagnosis or referral is needed to see a psychotherapist in Ontario.

Most people come in because something has been sitting with them for a while: feeling stuck, unmotivated, disconnected, or frustrated that they can't seem to change something on their own. That's reason enough.

You don't need to arrive with a list of problems or a well-explained story. You don't need to know how therapy works or what you're supposed to say.

We can start with what's been bothering you lately and figure it out from there. I'll guide you through the rest.

A short call about what's bringing you to therapy, what you're hoping to get out of it, and whether I can help. You can ask me anything about how I work.

No payment, and no pressure to continue afterward. It's also the easiest way to find out whether we'd work well together. You don't have to decide that in advance.

Not always.

Therapy isn't about deciding whether TikTok, YouTube, Twitch, gaming, or pornography are good or bad. It's about understanding what role they play in your life, and whether they're helping you live the life you want.

The goal isn't to use less. It's to have more choice.

That happens more often than people expect. A therapist can be a good fit for one person and the wrong fit for another, and that isn't a verdict on you or on therapy.

If you're switching therapists, the consultation is a chance to talk about what you're looking for and what hasn't worked before.

There's no single "internet problem" that therapy is built to treat. Online life runs through a lot of different concerns:

  • Doomscrolling and social media
  • Gaming and online communities
  • Pornography use
  • Procrastination and motivation
  • Anxiety and self-confidence
  • Social comparison
  • Dating, relationships, and loneliness
  • Identity, purpose, and direction
  • Self-improvement and perfectionism
  • AI anxiety

I'm a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), registration #21389. I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and an Honours Bachelor of Science with Distinction in Mental Health from the University of Toronto.

My clinical experience includes work as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) at a men's mental health practice under clinical supervision. Before that, I delivered over 400 individual coaching sessions on anxiety, self-esteem, life transitions, and problematic gaming and online habits. I've also held mental health education and peer-support roles with CAMH, Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences, and the University of Toronto Scarborough.
